I have always heard that is really hard on the syncros. In a rig it's different because they usually have 2-3 speed rear ends so you are shifting about every 3-5 mph while hauling a load in the lower gears? Was this just a myth I was taught

Have an 01 dodge neon with 200,000 miles with the original clutch in it. Was it all the years of clutch less shifting?. Maybe? I drove a big rig for 6 years so it really taught me how to do it correctly. Sad to say though, but my jk is AUTO. Sorry.

My dad had me do this when he was teaching me how to drive, but I really haven't done it much since then. I may have to start practicing again.

I've been doing it in my jk for some time now but after talking to a few techs at the dealer they said with these granny's it only takes a few good grinds to fuck up the tranny so I wouldn't recommend it to the guys that don't know how to do it, practice on an old car first but yea it always puts a smile on my face lol

Yep, that's right about where mine is too, nice and smooth. . .

I've done it before. But I wouldn't do it to save your clutch.

It costs very little to rebuild a clutch in comparison to a transmission. I'd rather be kinder to the latter

I can do it, and have if my clutch foot was busy.

Everything I know about it says its not horrible, but its not the greatest thing for the vehicle ever. If you get good at it you don't have to worry about blowing up syncros.

I don't really know if its bad for the tranny or not, I know a lot of people do it and get great life out of their transmission. I also know a lot of people who shift "properly" and still burn it up.
