Default Clippinger Jeep in W Covina

Does anyone have any experience with these guys? Went there to buy a New 2008 and the place just seemed weird. They had good deals on their 08's but all the cars on the lot were filthy, none of the "sales guys" had a clue about anything Jeep, and all the time I was there 3-4 hours, not a soul came into the dealership to buy a car. The sales manager seemed like a decent guy, but I got a weird vibe from the place. Had to leave because the "sales guy" left with the JK to get it cleaned and disappeared for 45 minutes. I plan to go back there next week, but was hoping for some opinions.

they still have 08 left overs on the lot? WOW I would think with the 2010's coming out you should be able to get one for a steal. Good luck

Take a look at Orange Coast Jeep. They are advertising big sales, like 09 Wranglers for $12000. Probably stripped 2 doors or 2 wheel drives, but worth a look

Thanks for the tip. I looked in yesterday's paper and the only guys with an ad were Don a Vee. They have a base 2009 2 door X with S package, Automatic and Air for 17,498. A steal, but I want a 4 door. I would actually prefer to do biz with OC, because they are closer to my office.

Yeah, I was specifically looking at a 2008 Black Rubicon. It had everything (except soft top) including Nav. Sticker is about 35, they want 29. I was ready to go, but then found out the car already had 3200 "owner driven" miles on it but would still be sold as new. Just felt like I should walk.

I had been talking to a sales person from there by email. Nothing seemed to weird to me, however, communication just stopped suddenly, even though I was trying to make a deal with them.

They seemed to have the most inventory in the Southwest from what I could find... not sure what that means. Could mean they are listing used 08's as new like you said. Thats kinda shady.

EDIT: Yeah i was talking with the guy, Gilbert, about that same vehicle probably, 08 Black Rubi Unlimited. 3200 used miles eh? That never got mentioned to me. I was told it was brand new. BS.

Yeah give Orange Coast a call, they sent me a message saying they were doing a sale till July 5.

Ask for Rob in the internet Fleet Dept. I bought mine from him and he was pretty easy to deal with

Yeah...a couple hundred miles is one thing, but 3250 was just too much. I tried to get more money off, but it was only a few hundred more. Another wierd thing was that the entire time I was there, not a soul walked in to buy a car. The place was a ghost town. Not sure what to make of it. Clippinger has a Chevy Dealer across the street and everything over there looks clean and "normal". Not sure what is up on the Jeep side.

As far as I am concerned they are a bunch of A-HOLES!!! Back in November of 2006 when I bought my JK I found 1 there that was everything I wanted. they told me it was for someone else but that they would sell it to me since he left to go get his wife. They then tried to get me to pay $10k over sticker!!!!! I walked out and ran into the guy that was coming back with his wife for his jeep. I told him what happened. He left too!
