Ok, just got back from the dealer and they suggested I talk to their detail guys about my wheels. So I left there and went by the shop and the dude was cool and picked up on the spots right away. With a little grin he said "yup, see ya have the brown stain syndrome common to cheap Chrysler wheels and you want them off?" "Yes sir" I told him and he gave me two options a. take the wheels off and buy real man Jeep wheels or b. commercial grade cleaner, tooth brush and a lot of time finished with wax. Option b. seemed the best for now and he did suggest what they use which was Purple Cleaner. Long story short sprayed Purple Cleaner on the wheels and took the tooth brush and scrubbed and scrubbed. My wheels were so bad it took about 30-45 mins. per wheel. Afterwards the detail guy told me once the wheels were clean to use a clearcoat safe wax and apply them to the wheels to help repel future stains. Look good now but trust me, if the stains ever get that bad again I will resort to option a. real man wheels!

i washed my jeep today. I just want to say, I HATE CLEANING WHEELS. I can wash cars, trucks, jeeps whatever all day long, as long as I don't have to do the wheels.

X2 I'm the same way. Hate doing wheels. Maybe it is the bending over or hunkering down that I hate. I need a ramp to drive the Jeep up onto so the wheels are at a comfortable height.

Have always used diluted Simple Green and a long bristle soft brush and have always had good results, and no negative issues on aluminum wheels. The brush gets in all the crevaces to.
