Yes, Jeep put a vacuum pump in (or pretty close) to the front bumper. My new bumper came with a relocation bracket. Wasn't a big deal to move it. I'm not sure if all aftermarket bumpers require moving this pump though. All the more reason to have a 2012 section on the forum.

I'm waiting on RIPP to finalize their unit. Outside of the intake, filter, there really isn't a whole lot you can do to it. It is not yet fully supported in the aftermarket. By this time next year there will be tons of options you can do.

Yeah... some rocket scientist came up with the location. Back when I changed my bumper in January nobody had a relocation kit/bracket so I made my own.

Thanks for the info... which bumper did you go with? I had met some local JK owners in the PHX area who were heavy into the OR-FAB so I looked up the bumpers on Quadratec... I guess Quadratec tells you (with the OR-FAB) that vacuum pump relocation kit ($23) is required. I was thinking it was just with the OR-FAB bumpers though.
