You also have to consider the torque curve in relation to both engines. The Pentastar develops max torque at a lower RPM than the 3.8L. This will give the Pentastar the advantage on your stop and go driving and giving you the low end grunt. The acceleration of a vehicle depends on both power and torque buildup.
