The 3.8 is fine in certain areas and is total garbage in other areas. There is no debating that. So what maybe fine for one person may not be for another. Some people are so blind to that by saying there is nothing wrong with the 3.8. Yes there is its a total dog!
So i guess what people really need to consider is what they do with there ride. If all they do is mud, trails and rock crawl then there is no need for a different motor as the 4 low takes care of that. My rubi will climb a straight up wall!
If you do some long distance traveling all loaded up with a trailer or small boat then the 3.8 blows! If you do alot of sand dunes the 3.8 blows.
I happen to do all of the above. When i drive on highway, tow my boat or go to the sand dunes i dream of having more juice at WOT!
Does having the extra high reving horsepower/torgue of the penstar help out for trails, mud, rocks, probably not as it doesnt need it! Would i love to have some more rip when i stomp the skinny peddle at the sand dunes, hell yeah!
If i didnt have 12K in to my damn jeep i would get a new one in a second!

Well I guess I won't be buying a 2011 after all.
Although I don't trust either dyno 100%, I think I'll take the pentastar!

Well a hemi would be nice, but I'd prefer crumby gas mileage to very poor. Doesn't matter though, I plan on keeping whatever JK I end up getting for 10 years +. I'll drive it into the ground. I just want a Wrangler, I'm getting so impatient I'll take one with 2 gerbils turning a wheel for an engine.
