Once they reach plant capacity for the month on a particular model and package of vehicle they will issue a Scheduled Out or Built Out status. This means that no more of that particular model/package will be scheduled (put in D status) for the production period.

Hence, the next available production period for that particular model/package would be the following month.

Dealers have no control over this. We are at the mercy of the factory.

Orders that are already in D status or further down the production line are not affected by being built out, in fact their scheduling contributed to a vehicle being listed as built out, becasue that scheduled vehicle took one of the available production spots.

Okay, so I'm looking at waiting until December to even be scheduled to be built, add another 4 weeks to that at least until I take delivery, that's 12+ weeks as opposed to the 6-8 quoted when I ordered.

To make matters worse the inventory search is down on jeep.com so I can't even obsessively check dealers' lots anymore. Very frustrating

I have mentioned in many different threads that any dealer quoting 6-8 weeks for delivery is going to have many unhappy customers. The realistic time period for the Wrangler at this time is more like 12 to 16 weeks. Unfortunate but true.

Even more frustrating; the plant shuts down for two weeks over the holidays so I am sure fewer vehicles will make the Dec. build list.

Called DC today. Dude on the phone (not gona mentiona any names) told me it says status "reffer customer to dealership manager". I says there is no such thing booger. So I figured i am talking to a real booger here. So I called back in half hour and spoke to a diff fella this time, was very helpful, said that the car has been in production since Oct 14th. It is now in status BG - passed edit n/a for schedule. 2 days ago it was in? BD - special equip processing. Am I looking at like January delivery time here?

I believe thatthe factory calls a vehicle "in production" the moment the order is placed. Unfortunately BG status is the early stage of the order. That means it has been placed but not accepted yet as a legitimate order.

Default Ordered Oct. 06

Ordered a Rubicon Unlimited, Jeep Green, manual, khaki interior, soft top, window tint, trailer group on October, 06 2006. Just got notice today of a BG status with late Nov. delivery...not going to holdup the turkey waiting...what are the odds on Nov. delivery? Thanks to the JK-Forum for the status codes - went to the dealer and asked they find the code status for me...Can't wait for the Jeep's arrival...does anyone know that if you order kahki interior, the top will be khaki rather than black...Thanks

I believe kahki tops are Sahara models only. My Rubicon is kahki interior, there was no choice offered for top color.

I guess I was still hoping the 6-8 week estimate was good at the time that I ordered (a month ago). Thanks again for your honest info -- from your other posts it looks like what happened is that I didn't make the cut and hit D in time for the 6-8 week turnaround and now I'm in 16 week land. Oh well, building cars is hard -- I'm pretty impressed that they can ever hit their estimates with all the pieces that need to be integrated and tested and other things that need to come together to make it show up on a dealer's lot.

On the bright side, I just took a look at my calendar, and I'm traveling probably 75% of those intervening weeks, so it should pass quickly for me...

Thanks for the info, amazing that the dealer didn't know or couldn't call someone...I like the black anyway...
