It looks like the factory is having a little trouble updating the status of the jeeps even though they are moving forward.[/QUOTE]
Yes, I believe you are correct. Mine was in D1 for two weeks according to the Chrysler hot line. Yet my dealer could see advancement. Yesterday, Chry. said it was in G (trim) and the dealer said it was ready to ship. Called today and it said shipped.
Seems like the hotline info is approximately 1-2 days behind reality.

Hmm... so, if mine were to take the same time, I'd be looking at a delivery date of mid-May. Not too bad, for me at least.
Just curious, but does anybody know if the VINs are sequential? Or is it more of a paperwork thing? It would be interesting to know since we could then compare VINs. And if so, my last six are 601040. Wonder if it'll be delivered on April 15th instead?

go here: http://jeep.avtograd.ru/VIN/vin_en.asp input your vin#. this is a jeep vin number decoder and will tell you all you need to know about your jeep.
Because if they build them by the numbers, we've got the potential to estimate which day a particular numbered vehicle could be built. Couple pages back had how many they could build a week. If somebody knew which day a recent Jeep was built, take the difference in serial numbers and divide by the daily production rate and then one might get a good idea of the build date.

Its my impression that they are not built in exact order. VINs are assigned some time after the order is received, but the Jeeps are scheduled for production based on several factors, including parts availability, options, color and even dealer priority.

Well I'm still in D status with my vin # 600642. I hope they don't build them in exact order as I'm almost 7000 different than yours. I'm being optimistic in hoping that I'll have it by the middle of March.
