The Haynes series is good, but I don't think they've had the time yet (or the heart?) to dismantle a complete JK.

I'd try searching (and maybe PM'n) the guys that have removed the stereo, mygig and maybe those that have done the dash insert-overlays, or even had the parts painted....Someone's gotta know....

But seeing how sooooooooo many friggin parts just *snap* together with the pressure/spring fittings and/or the garbage-plastic expando-screw inserts I wouldn't be surprised if all you need was a good hard shake to get it to come apart..........

Thanks. I had already gone that far when I installed the mic for the carkit, but I want to take out the 2 gray pieces of the center console so that I can paint them...
and they are still stuck at the bottom behind the lower part of the centerconsole in which the gearbox is hidden.

Funny you should ask, I just came across this last night. I'm not sure Atlas is a sponsor so I'll make this a non-link, but this is a nice writeup on how to do it. (Man I want one of those 4 speeds.)

Tuffy has a write up on their site so you can instal a new center console. Since they are a sponsor I can post a link here
