Cardnial Sin
#11
I know, I know.... I complain about talking drivers too. This is why it's titled a sin
As for the type of phone using and how people can hear me. It's winter and the doors and top are on for the time being. I'm just waiting for spring to come. Once warm weather hits there will be no talking and driving.

the phone definitely is and no the handsfree things don't help b/c you are in your head listening and talking and not paying full attention.
its the iPod, radio and the king of distractions the myGig.
its your spilled drink...
its eating that fast food...
its your kid(s) having a hissy fit...
its your dog jumping around...
its that hot chick in the convertible...
My point...life is a distraction. Try to deal with it responsibly.

Well, speaking as a pilot, I do my best to minimize cockpit distractions. When I was learning to fly, my instructors emphasized one thing over and over, and that was that my first job was to, "fly the f@#king airplane". The second job was to refer to the first job. Failure to remember this has resulted in the deaths of a lot of pilots and passengers. I also try to apply this rule when driving. Which is not to say that I don't drink your occassional cup of coffee in the Jeep, but (to use your word) I am reposnsible about it. In my experience, your average cellphone user / driver is not acting responsibly. What is so damned important that it can't wait until you are stopped or better yet, at home? Suzy soccermom discussing last nights episode of "Desperate Housewives" while she drives is in all likelyhood going to kill herself or worse, someone else. Just my .02.
