Default Camp Jeep - Passenger Height restriction?

After reading through the Camp Jeep materials I read that passengers must be 44" for all trail rides. Does anyone know how flexible they are with this restriction from past experience? I don't remember seeing anything about a height restriction when registering my family for the various events. I'm not looking forward to telling my 3yr old son that he can't come along on the ride

Thanks.

Unless something has changed recently....... We've been to multiple camp jeeps and my son was 1 in a car seat for one of them. We never had any issues. But we haven't been to one for about 2 or three years. But the JK is on order.

When we registered there was not one thing said about height, my 4 yr old is 39" tall. We got our package and called Camp Jeep and they did not know anything about it.

When the looked into it they told us it will be in effect for all of the trail rides, owners playground and any type of driving.

It is nice of them to allow you to drive to Camp Jeep w/ your little one, but when you get there they are not allowed.

It just won't be the little one not allowed, someone will have to babysit him too, so that means your wife can't go either. So it is kind of like seperate vacations for the two of you.

We cancelled our hotel reservations and cancelled Camp Jeep. So someone on the waiting list will able to go, they just can't sign up for anything cause everything is already booked.

I am glad I read the packet, just think of all of the people who go and they tell soorrry, jr can't ride.

And it is just too far and too much money to hope that they will just let them slide.

Yeah well this is a new "rule" that even the Camp Jeep phone operators were unaware of....I called and they actually had me read to them where it stated the rule! then they put me on hold and then they said someone would call back...and yep from what I was told its a new rule and applies to all camp jeep courses....nice of them to let families know ahead of time

Man this is REALLY going to affect a lot of people I bet. I know tons of folks that like to make it a family event, and if JR can't ride along, that leaves the MRS and kids out of the fun.

JK Girl let it go. Suffice it to say you as well as several poeple got screwed. Now they plan to screw a lot more. When we were considering it Camp Jeep was billed as a family affair and I saw nothing about age or height restrictions. We decided agianst it due to my lack of desire to be in crowded places (not a phobia just don't like them). I prefer to be the only one or one of few in a place myself and that is one of the reasons I bought a jeep.

Agree, I prefer going somewhere hardly anyone goes! I don't even like to go 4 wheeling wih bunch of people/Jeeps... I guess I don't like group thing. I like to go to places where you don't see the roads, not even 4x4 trails. It's always diappointing when I climb mountain and see the roads. When I go skiing or snowboading, I only go backcountry... never to ski resort. I guess I spent most of my youth (well, up around 30) in one of the most crowded places in the world; Tokyo, NYC, LA, Chicago etc., and I got tired of it. I always take days off during the week - Tues and Wed (my job is project based and I can set my own schedule... as long as I make it by deadline). I guess I'm a bit odd.

Back to the topic, I just looked up the Camp Jeep website to see what's all about. It's definitely not for me but looks fun for the family. I'd like to see Tony Hawk's performance (skateboad). Is there snow too? It says Shaun White (Gold medalist snowboader) is performing... Anyway, it clearly says "Must be 44 inches or taller to be a passenger in any of the course vehicles". Go to: http://www.jeep.com/jeep_life/events...eep/index.html , click "Wrangler Unlimited 4Wheeling Forest".

FYI, it also says somewhere on the site that no pets allowed.

Actually, anyone who is planning to attend Camp Jeep should download "Official Camp Jeep Field Guide" (PDF file): http://www.jeep.com/jeep_life/events...fieldguide.pdf

It gives all the neccessary info/rules incl. the height requirement, pets policy etc.

According to the Guide, there are a lot of rules! "Do not hang anything from your rearview mirror that may obstruct your vision", "No using earphones while operating a motor vehicle, moped, or bike", "Must be 18 years or older with a valid drivers license to drive on all trails and courses at Camp Jeep", "Pets are not allowed on-site — or in the parking lot", "Food sales are cash only", "Absolutely no weapons are allowed at Camp Jeep", "Absolutely no alcohol or illegal substances will be permitted at Camp Jeep, on the trails, or in the parking lot", "Smoking is not permitted at Camp Jeep because it is a fire hazard" etc. etc.

And of course, there's "Camp Jeep is not responsible for lost or stolen property"!

The 44" height restriction thing is stated at P.7 (PDF) or P.12, 13 on actual page on the Guide.

First off Only-- I have let it go -- I didn't start this post..I was just answering it. Your singling me out like I started a new post to cry more...well no-- I was only answering another post....to let him know he is not alone...and no he didn't miss anything....that rule is "new".

And second all the rules you see posted were not online when I or probably any other people registered. ( Back in Feb) So sure you can direct us to all the links you want but they were not put up back when regiestration opened.
