Default Buying JKU, what would you do?

I've been in the market for a JKU for months. Not in a hurry, but figured I'd pull the trigger when I found the right one. Here's my question...

Would you buy a 2011 JKUR loaded, lifted and w/ less than 10k miles or a buy base model 2013/2014 JKU and lift, mod, etc? Assume prices for each the same.

I'd get the base model 3.6 and mod it the way I'd want to.

Buying a modded JK defeats half of the purpose.

If you are going with an automatic, then def go new. The 2012 upper have the Pentar motor and has a 5 speed tranny.

thanks everyone for the very prompt replies.

I'm surprised not a single vote for the Rubi. I'm scheduled to test drive it again this morning. My plan is to end up with 37s, so this one has had my attention; although I'm very aware of the issues w/ 3.8L. I'm not overly worried about resale value, as I plan to keep this Jeep for a long time (had my TJ for 13 yrs), but don't want to be ignorant about it either.

From the feedback here, it definitely sounds like I need to go back to the dealer and get back behind the wheel of a new 3.6L to see if I can feel the difference. I have been talking to all my local dealers, comparing prices, discussing options and they are obviously trying to get me into a new one as well (That's their job, right). Right now, several of them are on a hunt for 2013 Rubi. We'll see...
