Default buying a jk auto or manual

Hi there new to the forums and getting ready to purchase a jk 2dr Sahara however it will
Be used an I'm sure this has been asked before and I've read a few threads about it but ....
I was really hoping to get a manual in the price range im looking for but they all are wrangler x's
I have found an automatic 07 with low miles its a Sahara I'm guessing it has 3.21s in it and I'm wondering. If when I lift and put 33's maybe 34's on it will the motor suffer that much??? I know I could regear but it'll be more for going to the hunting camp and playing on a few small trails and back roads so I'd l Ike to stay stock as much as possible I just don't want to regret such a big purchase(OK its a jeep I'm sure I wouldn't regret it thattttt much) anyone who has a similar jk or any helpful info would be much appreciated!!!!

You'll need at least 3.73 on the old motor to run lager tires and an Auto with that or less will still be unpleasant on steep hills at freeway speed. We had a 4 door with 3.73's and 32's and it would constantly down shift trying to maintain 70 mph on hills. A manual won't have this issue.

Really even with just 32's eh?(can you tell I'm Canadian ha ha) hmmm so it might be worth holding out for a manual..... would you happen to know what the odds are it would have at least 3.73's? I'm guessing without the VIN theres no way to be sure.... didn't notice a hitch in the pictures either

Buy 2012 or 13, auto or manual doesn't matter. My '12 4dr rubi has 4.10's, auto trans and 37's. The new 3.6 pentastar engine way more power than the 3.8

Believe me i wish I could afford that I'm only 22 ha ha maybe in a couple years I'd be able to trade up to a brand new one.

A lot of sport s models (17 alloy wheels) have the 3.73's gears. The basic model (16" steelies) had 3.21 gears. Not sure in Canada though. And yes even with the 32's it hunted for a good gear with our auto. my 11 2 door had a manual and was fine with 32's. couldn't use 6th gear a lot but ran great in 5th (still a overdrive gear too)

That's good info to know I'm sure Canada is probably the same as just south of the border I will eventually end up with a small lift and 33's or 34's I guess if I go with an auto a regear is inevitable isn't it. How I do love manual transmissions..... any other info or wisdom you'd like to share v8zracer260z that you think I should know?

I drive a manual 07 2 door. It is nice being able to control highway speeds more easily than an auto, but would much rather have an auto when it comes to off road crawling. Tough call...

There are times when an automatic is better, but I would still rather have a manual.
