Debt is the enemy of wealth and adding more debt to buy a depreciating asset isn't the best idea. If you are going to do it, sell your Jeep outright and take the trade out of the deal. Figure out exactly what you want and contact every dealer within a reasonable distance and get a quote in writing. Play them against each other. You should be several % below invoice. Look at edmunds, kbb, and nada for dealer invoice and what other people paid.
Well your situation is different. You paid cash, which you can get a better deal especially if they're trying to move inventory. Getting financed isn't so easy to get an OTD price like that.

You have all raised very valid points i really want to hold out untel the new model comes out in 2015 or 16. I am just getting worried about my trans and all of the other work i will have to do shortly like headers. I do all my own work that is not the issue, its time and large amounts of money at one time. I have to admit i just drove up there and parked my jeep next to the stock 2 door x and it looks like a go cart next to my lifted 4 door lol. If i get it i wont be able to mod for a wile, that would kill me.

Not true. The dealership would rather you finance the vehicle if you can qualify. If you finance with your own bank or credit union, then the sale is no different for the dealership than a cash sale. If you allow the dealership to process your loan, it's not like they are using their own money for the deal. They simply shop your loan around to different banks. They look first for a bank that will finance you, and assuming you have decent credit, they'll pick the bank that gives them the biggest kickback. This is the difference between the bank's wholesale finance rate to the dealer and what the dealer tells you your interest rate will be. The dealer keeps the difference. Thus, they'd rather finance a car than have someone pay cash. Yeah, I used to sell cars.

Get a pre-approved loan before shopping- then see if the dealer can beat it.

you sound rather immature about owning a new jeep , if your more into looks of your 4 door lifted
than reliability keep the 4 door and don't ask what you should do ! its obviouse yould rather drive the clunker that sits higher lol see ya in the break down lane

I would just weigh what would end up costing more in the long run(5 yrs) repairs on your current jeep or the thousands in a new one. I'd say keep your current one..... Good luck.

Well I think what I am going to do is ask for 20500 otd and 13500 for my trade in. That means I would have around 5k down payment and my monthly payments would not change to much. Only thing that would change would be how much longer I would need to make payments. I hope they go for it!

with cash sale dealer gets the cash in hand and can fudge things also pay commisionsales faster ! etc...
plus they make the sale then and there. its in the dealers best interest to deal cash even when they say not realy funny they jump out of their chairs when the green backs come out all of a sudden they want to get you a coffee fluff your pillow
