Default Busted horn?

My horn stopped working after the steering column got wet. The horn first started to go off on it's own for a few seconds at a clip, and now it doesn't work at all. I checked the fuses associated with the two horns (in the fuse box under the hood) and both are fine. I'm assuming I shorted a relay in the steering column? Anyone have an opinion as to what the problem could be? Is it something I can fix myself?

Any help is appreciated!

It's been a while. At least 3 or 4 months.

I have heard of horns
Failing after
Imersion but other than that I don't know you could try unplugging horn and checking the circuit with a multi-tester

Test it from the horn end of the circuit?

Since you got wet, could be the the horn terminals, relay, or switch in the column is corroded. First a visual at the terminals of the horn.
Simple test. Check with a volt/multimeter at the horn terminals, are you're getting voltage when the switch is depressed. If yes, the horn is the problem. If no, check the relay. If the relay is good. You got problems.
Hopefully it's the horn or relay.

I experienced this same problem this weekend. Where is the horn relay located?

If the column got wet it is more than likely the clock spring, which resides in the steering wheel. It should be a warranty issue, I had mine replaced twice, no questions asked. The down side is if the clock spring shorted out, it can damage the TIPM, fancy name for underhood fuse box, which would then need to be replaced as well. Again... Should be a warranty issue, but you never know.

My fuses checked ok and the horn works, so must be in the relay or column. I just hate taking it to dealer and waiting. UGH. I guess I can get my recalls done now too.
