Good Sized Price Increase
Well, I just built one exactly like the '10 that I'm going to try to buy tomorrow. Yes, I've decided to not wait for the '11 or '12. Anyhow there is a price increase of $930, I can't pay $930 extra for what little difference the '11 offers over the '10. Not to mention the discount on a '10 that the dealer indicated in my conversation with him today.
After seeing a 2011 soft top the other day I decided that I'd rather have the '10's interior. Although it is made of harder surfaces and has a handful fewer standard features, it honestly suites the JK better. I like the '11 interior alright, it is a bump up in materials. But the look is not really Wrangler it's indeed a tad too car like, mostly because of the door panels and the soft touch materials. The '07-'10 interior aesthetically fits the vehicle better, and it is more utilitarian. Oh and the rear glass is all wrong on the '11...it's too wide. I suppose the added viewing area is a plus but as industrial design goes it's kind of bad.
I was lucky, I found a '10 Sport that is equipped EXACTLY as I would have equipped it if I had custom ordered it......plus it has a bonus that tickled me to the max....to be disclosed later!!!!
Hopefully the numbers work out, if so I'll be driving it tomorrow!
Wish me luck!!!

I don't really think it's a waste of time to discuss design. I went through college on some art scholarships and got my share of design courses both art and some industrial design. I can honestly say that the original JK design is amazingly successful it's some of Jeep's finest work. The execution could have been better (quality) but the aesthetic design and it's honor of the Civilian Jeep tradition is amazing. As an artist with a good understanding of design I was floored the first time I saw the '07 JK...it's that good. The new interior is awaiting a refreshed exterior. IMHO.
If I buy this Jeep tomorrow it will be EXACTLY what I would have dreamed of getting and then some. I'll be STOKED to get it and I have to be careful not to be too easy going when discussing the deal I would like to own it maybe a tad too much!!
Thanks for the good luck wish....will need some of that tomorrow! LOL Oh, and I have to go well into Louisiana to pick it up.

Anyone else notice that the leather interior looks like it is a darker color than we have seen in previous photos?
I am anxiously awaiting for delivery of my '11 Sahara in Mango. Ordered on 8/17 and have a scheduled ship date of the 16th of September. While waiting for delivery I have been scouring the forum here gaining information and learning as this is my first Jeep!
