Default Better Gas Mileage

I am looking at how to get better gas mileage on my jeep. I was looking at the superchips flashpaq tuner. for gas mileage setting, is there anything that ya'll would recommend for this.

Nothing really helps much. I've got the flashpaq, cai and exhaust, still sucks.

I'm normally a nice guy, but this has been discussed ad nauseam, please do a search.

Here's one such thread.

Ultimately the only things that make a big difference are slow accelerations (less skinny pedal), drive the speed limit or just under (try not to exceed 60 when possible).

that's the bizz right there...
also have no lift...and run small small tyres...
with road going treads...no muds for sure...

basically...BORE YOURSELF TO DEATH ... !!!

it's a gas guzzler...it's a brick...it's not a car... !!!
give something else up...loose weight by not eating...
improve your health by quitting beer...
wear the same clothes all the time...

'cos if you want to remain supercool in the best vehicle on the planet...
buy the gas and forget about it...pop the roof off and smile...

Even though I know its low, I also try to maximize my mpg. Why not get the best it will give, while enjoying all the other benefits? I thought the higher the tire pressure, the better for mpg (worse for ride, and I know there's a limit), and was running at 34 psi in my stock 32's. I dropped it to 32 psi based on a different thread, and got another 30 miles out of the first tank of gas. Surprised for sure, and maybe its an anomoly. We'll see, just thought I'd share.

And thank you in advance for the commenters who will suggest running at 50 or 5 psi to really maximize my mileage.

Thumbs up

Probably not the advice you’re looking for but.... bike to work.

It will be different for everyone but... for me that saves me 225km a week or about 75$ ish a week with the current astronomical prices these days. So just shy of 300$ a month in my pocket, 900km less wear and tear on the Jeep. Plus.... I'll be looking super sexy for the rides with the top down, that's something a programmer just won’t do.

Come on it's a Jeep.

Yeah it does suck but when the doors and top comes off...its all worth it. But mine is still stock so I still get decent mileage 18-19 to and from work and 20-22 on long trips.

ask yourself a question.....did you buy the jeep for the fuel mileage? For the amount of money you will spend trying to chase around a couple miles to the gallon you could by a motorcycle....just sayin

I do a lot of city driving and I have gotten 16-17 mpg without fail for over 3-1/2 years. I like checking my mileage at every fill up, I don't know why, I really don't care but I guess I do it for shits and giggles. Here's the kicker and I can't wrap my mind around it, I just switched to mobil-1 5w-30 ext. performance from mobil-1 5w-20 and my first tank of gas, all city driving, figured to 18.83 mpg. I figured it twice because I thought I hit a wrong button on my phones calculator, but nope, it was 18.83. I can't wait until my next fill up to figure it again. I know damn well that I haven't changed my driving style in the last week so it really has me baffled.
