The massive discounts from this time last year helped quite a few of us out. Those $5-7k discounts are gone today.
The "truck based" SUV category is actually pretty competitive. This means the Wrangler beats the FJ, 4Runner, Xterra, Pathfinder, etc. None of those 4 are turds, and all pass my "I'd keep it if I won it on a game show" test.

I really like the current Xterra and think the new 4Runner is bad ass. But, with no solid axle up front and no ability to remove top or doors, none can compare with the Wrangler.
