That's great but they should at least give you an ETA or more accurate time of completion. And at the VERY least, respond to your phone calls and give you the status of your product. They can't expect everyone to assume the order is fine and on it's way after sevaral weeks of no responses.

This can include people coming on a forum such as this and warning others not to buy from them. When you get bad service you simply go to a different source to get what you need. It's survival of the fittest when it comes to doing business. The great product you produce won't always supercede the horrible customer service you are giving. I feel it is wrong of Benchmark to not have replied to any of my phone calls or emails considering that I have paid for the product in full. I too ordered the dual battery kit a few weeks ago and have heard nothing.

They should certainly be willing to accept negative criticism even if they are totally awesome, probably even more so in that case.

Every single company is going to make someone mad. It doesn't matter if every call is answered in a minute and every product is shipped in an hour and all at a 20% discount. Someone is going to be pissed. The issue is when they are pissing off half of their customers. Bad reviews don't hurt companies unless they are REALLY bad or large in number.

I think that is a big, big plus of this forum, they allow negative comments and criticism of companies. Not all of the criticism is realistic or fair, but they are there which allows you to make a little bit more of an informed purchase. If you buy from Quadratec, you know that it is going to be shipped "eventually", etc.

When a company has zero negative feedback I assume censorship/deletion or a very, very new company. No one makes everybody happy, I think that might be a song from before I was born. Negative feedback rounds out the whole experience.

For instance, if Benchmark Designs makes everybody wait - they must have some stuff that nobody else does. Was enough to make me check em out, and it looks like they do. Always a tradeoff.

I agree with that -- which is why I didn't say that at all. What I said was there are plenty of threads warning folks off from this vendor, as well as at least one other forum sponsor with a somewhat similar reputation. Fine, no complaints there. But, once warned, people shouldn't be surprised when the warnings turn out true. And no one should be telling someone else, such as you and me, that we shouldn't do business with that particular vendor--especially when that person has never himself ever dealt with that vendor! I, and I suspect you, entered a business relationship with Benchmark Designs with our eyes fully open. I accept the possible consequences of that action--and hope that means delivery for each of us within a few weeks of our dual-battery kits. No excuses for their customer service--it is truly quite poor.

x2 what Mark said, if you have spent any amount of time on this forum and did minimal surfing of threads or research on these items before pulling the trigger on a purchase, there is no one to blame because the onus is on the one placing the order. It's hard to believe that people are still willing to deal with Benchmark after the numerous horror stories. I am with Mark D. on this one. Now for the unknowning consumer, well I feel for that guy, because he doesn't what he is getting into.

I had the same issues with John when I purchased my front bumper, but he eventually got hold of me and we got everything straightened out and I love the bumper. I am not sure why he does not answer or return e-mails, as he has to see these threads that threaten to discontinue doing business with him, and he must be smart enough to realize that when enough JK buyers are unhappy, that it will carry to all of us eventually. Hope you all get your products and things get back to normal, as they do have some great products.

Default Do not Order anything from BMD.

Do not.... DO NOT order anything from BMD. Consider yourself warned. Ordered a JK dual battery set up back in March.. no response to email or voice messages... and he will never check this forum. Multiple emails to try to even just get a refund and no response. Complaints to the BBB, criminal complaints started with States AG's office and DOJ for wire fraud. If you ever received something that you ordered from this guy....you are F'n lucky.

I bought my Benchmark Design dual battery kit through a third party. I still had to wait a few months, but instead of dealing with BD I just called Rebel Offroad and they answered all my questions.

I've noticed their success rate is 50/50. Half the members get their stuff and are happy, the other half don't and are pissed. I only got half my order and had a hell of a time with the whole situation.

Would you risk a 50/50 chance with your hard earned money? That's the question everyone should ask themselves before buying from Benchmark.

I'm still waiting patiently for a dual-battery kit as well--ordered last February. Knowing his reputation, I haven't even tried to contact him. I'm just wondering: Has anyone received anything in the past six months or so from him? Or is he MIA?
