I had a Rat in the garage a couple months ago. I checked my air filter shortly after and the Rat was making a nest in the filter. I couldn't believe it. How did he know how to get in there?

Wow... crazy! You can still get the AEV Snorkel without the AEV hood... you have to cut a notch in yours and it comes with a trim piece to dress up the notch. I think I may get one... even if it is just for days like this:
