Default Back Window

Should there be some straps in the back that hold your window up when you just want to roll it up? I think my dealer took a few things out of my Jeep when it was on the lot so they wouldnt get ripped off and forgot to put them back in there! is that normal?

My elastic straps didn't work too well. They are just a bit too stretchy for me, and they let the window hang down too far. I got some velcro straps with a buckle and secured them too the cross member. When I have the window down, they just hang back there, and when I want to roll up the window, I just wrap the straps around it. They stay in place pretty well, even at highway speeds.

my elastics work well if you unzip both side to the top and allow is to still be zipped... i use to detach it completely on my TJ and just let it hang. it falls off on the JK though so you have to keep it zipped...

it does hang a goo bit lower though than the TJ roll.

MY STRAPS WERE IN MY OWNERS MANUAL CASE

Same for me, the rear window was too low and blocked most of the view. I did find that by wraping the straps over the rear bar and then onto the tips of the window roll it would take any slack out of them and hold it tight againts the top. But lately i've found that just taking it out for the summer is better... its not like i'm going to be using the AC anytime soon...

you need to call them and tell them that none of that stuff was in there. I would. not that the owners manual is helpful lol i find out more on here than I ever did in the manual. But you pay alot of money for this jeep it should have every thing in it. Good luck

I agree....not that the owners manuel and back window straps of major concern to me....but I feel as you do...you give someone a lot of your hard earned money and expect a complete product in return...The dealer is not that bad...over the phone I cant get shit handled and they know I live over almost two hours away from them, standing there in person they take care of your problems pretty quick...so Ill be making a little surprise pop in this weekend!

The elastic straps are made to snap onto the crossmember of the soft top. After you unzip the sides of the back window, roll the window up. Then you can insert the roll through the elastic straps. The strap is a bit too stretchy for me, so I switched to a velcro type strap (see my earlier post). I can post pics of the velcro setup if needed.
