This is recycled oil, filtered and new additives added. Motor oil DOES NOT wear out. It can be filtered and recycled endlessly. One they package it with the proper additives your engine won't know the difference. When I was a kid, bulk recycled oil was available at many service stations. I don't believe this product would cause ANY problems in any vehicle....

I work at a dealership. I asked my mechanics about this oil and they told me to stay away from it due to lack of true viscosity. In a nutshell it doesn't protect the parts as well as fresh oil. Hope this helps.

Not to get into a pissing contest- the viscosity of oil is not affected by prior use. The weight blends are refined out of used oils just like virgin oil. BTW I am also a dealership auto tech. This thread is like an oil filter thread, NO ONE will ever agree, LOL...

I'll second Tinman. Oil doesn't go bad, it just gets dirty. Basically. In my industry, we filter and "polish" all of our oil.

That reminds me of a pool supply salesman's pitch to me, for the line of pool filters he was selling.
His misinformed claim was that his filters were so good, they actually "polished" the water molecules so the surface of the water would always sparkle in the sun.

I agree with you, oil is all about the addatives...kinda like gas is all the same, but the addatives are what set it apart.

Tinman thats the secrete that oil companies don't want you to know, back in the early 60's we had a GMC V6 all cast iron engine in a 3/4 ton truck that never had it's oil changed but a few times, what it had was a toilet paper filter that was added and the stock bolt canister type. It had over 300.000 miles on it until the speedo broke on it , and got retired to the barn, its been up and down the west coast many times from Alaska to T.J and all though the desert. Damn they stopped making good vehicles when they stopped making wing windows.

come to think about it it had an oil bath air filter too!
