I can take mine off by myself but I need help putting it on. Just slide it back and crawl under and walk it back. After I am clear of the jeep just crouch down in the grass and crawl out from under it. Its not easy but it works. Just can't crawl under and lift it.

I honestly didn't think to ask for help. I got underneath and picked it up until I could lift it over my head. I'm scrathing my head on this one why this is a big deal. I even put it back on by myself when winter came...

Yup. me too. I take it off and put it on by myself. I just need to remember how hot the top gets in the summer. I shave my head, if i dont put on a hat i always burn my head, but you cant just drop it so I swear.

It's probably easier in a 2-door model than a 4-door, though I wouldn't reccomend it

If your anything like me, when you decide you want your top off. You look around and no one is there, somehow you get super human strength. Sit in the back, center the weight of the top with your 2 hands, make sure the tailgate is down, walk it off the Jeep, drop to your knees, then roll backwards while you set it down nicely, crawl out from under it and then leave it there until someone can help you move it

Oh man, that's a bad day. I'm surprised the top did not break in two. I'm not going to lie and say I have never taken the top off my CJ like that! I was lucky and never dropped it. I think there is a JK forum sticker on that jeep.

Forum member Sgt P built this awesome hard top table for solo removal - link to write-up. Throughout the thread there are a couple of enhancements, but Sgt P nailed it from the start.
