It would be pretty rough on your clutch, I wouldn't think it'd be horrible for awhile though. Just forget about 6th for sure

I have, mine is an auto not great of course, but liveable for a while, I took a trip last week of about 300 miles and it wasn't as bad as I though it would be, won't go over 75. I'm glad is not my dd. I'm not rushing to regear either.

I am running 4.10 gears and 37x12.50x17 BFG KM 2's with an auto. I never use overdrive unless i am going down hill. I bought 5.13 gears for it, but have not installed them yet. Definately does not have much power right now though.

on a somewhat related note how would 35s on 3.73s be? I don't realy want to regear as the $$ will be tight after getting rims and tires... I'm debateing between 33s and 35s.

35's and a 6 speed here with 3.73's. I also live in Iowa where it is really flat. It works really well and I use 6th all the time on the highways/interstates. We did a trip to Moab and it worked really well. Being our first trip offroading we didnt do anything to crazy and the Jeep didnt even break a sweat. Was it perfect? No. But very doable.
