I got my '11 on Jan 1, 2011 and wish I only knew what the '12's would have. I wish I could only swap out the Tranny without killing my wallet. I don't wanna trade for the '12 because I've put so much into this one. . The '12 is definitely the way to go.

I got my 11 last July. It was stickered at $32,000 I kept telling the dealer that the 12s were going to be better. after I told them that I was going to walk away and wait for the 12 and ended up getting my 11 for $26000 out the door.

I bought mine at a steal out here in Hawaii, brand new JKU's X, Sport, Sahara, or Rubi tend to go for 36K+ for a FVCKING BASE MODEL. I bought mine for 27k with barely 5k miles, lift, CAI, and exhaust all included and all MOPAR parts. The Auto trany is pretty gay but what do you expect from an Automatic Transmission... You only buy them if you wife is gonna drive it or you have been neutered or you are gonna be in hella traffic like Hawaii on the H1/ parkinglot. lol

I bought an '11 JKU in July of last year for about 24K. I got a manual with 3:73s though, so I don't regret having a 3.8 under the hood so much. If I had of waited for a '12, it would have been 4-5K more for esentially the same vehicle and wouldn't have been my favorite jeep color (mango) so I'm good.

I bought a 2011 JKU Sport S with auto and 3.73s. Zero complaints. It's my DD and we're about to take our 2nd trip to Colorado with the kids in it. I got it in June of 2011 knowing full well the 2012s were a few months away. I got a great deal with a great interest rate. I've had faster vehicles, but I have never felt like it was under powered... just my opinion. If the price is right, pull the trigger. My next door neighbor just bought a 2012 Altitude. It's really nice, but leather, navigation and the new motor/tranny do not equal the extra 14 grand they paid for theirs over mine...

^ What he said. I bought a 2010 JKU Mountain edition, so it came pretty much loaded. It had 1 original lady owner, never off road, and she only had it for a year and a half. I bought it for 20k, she paid 32k for it. A new 2011 or 2012 would have been thousand more for a jeep with similar options.

You will have to decide if the 2012 is worth the extra $$$ vs. a left over 2011.
