Anybody buy a 2011 recently?
I know the 2012's are the craze right know with the increased horsepower, but I was wondering if anyone has bought a leftover 2011. I'm looking for an unlimited sport with automatic transmission. There are a few left around a here, but, I haven't seen any advertised incentives. I have called, but the sales guys are evasive with any info. My next step is to email the Internet sales manager, but was hoping to have some ballpark idea of what they are going for.

The 42RLE (4speed tranny) is an AWFUL match-up for the 3.8 with 3.73's...especially in a heavier 4-door.

When I got my used 09 a few months back, Perkins had an 11 JKU Rubi with 500 miles on the clock. Asking $30,500 after some rebates and discounts. Then toss in those "fees" and back up close to 31K and change. I was a 6 speed with duel tops too.
Good price, but I got my 09 well over 5K cheaper and only 21K miles of road time. This is my fun car, so I wanted to save cash and not feel bad about wheeling a new Jeep. Save 130-150 a month on the payment

I bought a 2011, had it for a few months, then traded up to a 2012. It hurt the wallet, but it was worth it. Wish I would have just saved a few thousand more the first time instead of buying a year that has extremely little aftermarket support and an underpowered engine.
Though if your heart is set on it, the interior is amazing (same as 2012 actually). I went to 5.13 gears, intake and exhaust to try to get some power out of it. My stock 2012 with 3.21s would still kill it in performance, but it did really help the 2011 move along.
Unless the difference in price for a 2011 vs. 2012 is about the price of a supercharger, I would just go with the 2012 and spend a bit more cash.
I'm only hating because I had one... just saying

Agreed, $200 more a month would be a tough pill to swallow. I kinda got off light since my 2011 was still extremely low miles and had some great stuff done to it. My 2012 payments are the same, but the switch from the 2011 to the 2012 cost me $3,500 out of pocket. Plus I had to leave the suspension and tires on the 11. But, I still say it was hands down worth it in my case. If it had cost me $200 more a month, I would have just supercharged my 3.8 instead

Thats encouraging. My 2007 2dr is paid off and i could potentially payoff a 2011 if things work out. My jeep is not my DD, but I have noticed that as my kids have grown, we no longer take the jeep places as a family, especially if we need storage space. I am in no hurry, but if the price is right, I would move on it. I guess that I could wait and try to do the same with the 2012's once the 2013's hit the lots.
