Default Another Newbie Question: folding windshield down

Sorry for asking . . . and tried to figure this out on my own . . . BUT

WHY would you want to fold down your windshield?

I know that it is possible to do (after unbolting all kinds of screws and nuts) etc. but WHY?

If you are going out "off-roading", "rock-climbing", "mud-crawling", etc. what possible advantage would there be to folding your windshield down?

I'm sorry to ask . . . and I know EXACTLY what I want to do "off road" (more on that later I promise)

But why would you want to lower the shield? Wouldn't that throw more dirt, and tree branches, debris, etc. into your face?

Thanks so much, all best, and really loving his Jeep,
Joe

It is kinda useless on the JK because it takes so much work, and the curved windshield looks silly on the hood. But...it is a tradition.

It's safer for the passenger to shoot the zombies if they can stay buckled.

Dropping the windshield is catering to people who like bugs in their diet (in some countries, it's referred to as "fast food") or like to look like pro hockey players by getting clocked by random pebbles down the freeway.

I think also to go hunting. The terrain can be pretty muddy so all u have to do is dive there and recline your seat and wait

just "don't" do it!

glass sits too close to hinges and could break.
Once down your alignment for tops will never be the same.
