Am I the only one leasing a JK?

[QUOTE=N2rock;764900]Not necessarily true
First- the buy back price is already set in the contract. It does not fluctuate with the resell value of the given moment- it is a contractual amount. My buy back is set at $16k- which is probably about right for a 3yr old fully loaded Unlimited (that had original sticker of $28,500). But again, the buy back price was negotiated up front. QUOTE]
JK's X's can be bought new right now here for $19,999. That was probably not the case when folks here leased their Jeeps but with prices this low and interest even lower, leasing with a thought of buying out at the end is probably a really bad idea now.

Not apples and oranges at all. That's for an unlimited...no assumptions. They've got them up to 10K marked down. Again, as I stated, that wasn't to be anticipated 6-12 months ago, just the facts. Leasing, imo, is never a good idea as you just "rent" your vehicle.
Even if you trade every 3 years, which again is a HUGE waste of money, pay the vehicle off then when you trade in you only owe 6 or 8 thousand difference - that you've saved up for 3 years.

That is true.....but in Canada you get a better tax write-off with Leasing vs. owning and it mostly comes down to when you own your vehicle you must deduct Captial Cost Allowance/Expenses for the value you recieve from the used/trade-in vehicle from the Cost you paid for the new vehicle.

Mine is leased. and replace this jeep with original items i have in the garage. Going to get a new one June 2012
39 months x $400
$3000 deposit
$15000 due after 39 months.
but i am sure they will beg me to keep it.

SO as i said i have to pay $15,000 at end of lease for my rubicon. 3 years old, lets look at the prices of 3 year old rubis. granted these are the older models but looks like i could even earn a few $$$ which makes the lease even more worthwhile.
