Am I crazy to trade in my F-150??
I loved the looks and cross-functional appeal of the Unlimited JK since day #1. I have a family (2 kids: 2 years old and 1 year old), so require space for children's seats. I have a SuperCrew F150 that treats me very well...
I'm kicking tires looking at an Unlimited Rubicon with the following options: Dual top, Tow Package, Automatic. Should I trade my F150 in against it?
My logic follows:
- 4-door Jeep is more family-friendly to keep stroller and other stuff dry in rear - storage
- Rubicon has the fun factor I crave (recently sold a 77 bronco)
- My payments will only go up $20/month on a 48 month pay-off (extends payment period from truck loan ny 6 mos.)
- if I need add'l utility, I'll buy a 5x10 trailer (which has more capacity, anyway!)
Thanks.
Jeff

I traded in my '02 F150 FX4 extended cab on the JK Unlimited.
I have 3 kids that were 6, 8, and 10 when I bought it.
I improved on everything but towing and a ready bed for hauling.
I love my Jeep and don't regret the decision at all!

Another F-150 owner [owned several actually], that moved to the JK Unlimited... Best decision I ever made, one that I still don't regret. If it'll do what you need it to do, and you're happy with it, you should do it.
One thing I definitely notice is that we [family] have gotten a lot more closer than we were with any other vehicle that we've had. Wife and kids love to go out in the JK every opportunity... we all have a blast. Not very many vehicles can say that confidently.

Do it !!!!!
I have 6 kids (15, 14, 12, 10, 7 and 2 y.o.) and, it's not a problem...
2 in the front, 3 in the rear, and 3 others under the hood

Hard to believe I've been here for 3 years! I actually bought the F150 I have now immediately before the Unlimited was released. I KICKED myself for not waiting another 2 weeks.... I literally was looking at the sales brochures the night I drove the truck home.
I'm semi-negotiating right now and think I have a favorable deal developing. I may have to order exactly what I want, but I've waited 3 years! What's another month?!
