Default Alarm goes off if I unlock doors with key

Hi Guys, if I use the key to unlock the door the jeep alarm goes off. It doesn't matter if I use the two origional keys or the spare the dealer made for me. All three keys work fine to start or drive the jeep.

This is anoying as can be because the one key does not have the remote stuff on it and I want to use this key with a lite key chain.

Is this a normal security thing or is there a problem with the flash for the alarm.

thanks
Don

I cant speak specifically on the JK but both of my vehicles that have factory alarms installed, if it is armed you must un-arm it with the FOB or it will go off.

Quit locking it with the remote, then it won't go off when you just use the key to unlock it.

Even if I lock it my using the door lock button before I close the door it still goes off.

Default manual

it is in the manual, it says it will do that. I think it has something to do with the roof off.....if someone reaches in and opens the door...voila.....

Not related to a "roof-less" vehicle. My 91 Cherokee did it the same way.

Lock it with the key NOT the lock button/switches!!!

AND read your owners manual
