Here is my setup for towing behind our RV. The bumper is a Rockhard aluminum stubby bumper. Behind the license plate is the winch. To the left of the license plate is the electrical hookup. To the right of the license plate (hard to see) is the air brake hookup.

I was told that Smitty Bumpers aren't rating for RV towing, by Extreme Terrain. I have a 2016 Jeep Wrangler JK 2dr and I want to have one of the bumpers installed and tow off of that bumper. I do NOT want to install the base plate. Looking forward to figure it out in here!

If this comes loose for some reason when towing, wouldn't it cancel your insurance? I was told by Progressive that I have to have a baseplate installed and tow as I would an other vehicle.

I want a BUMPER!

For me, I don't see a reason to object to a baseplate. I have a Currie industries on mine and I really like it.

I was told it was either/or . . . if I get the baseplate, the bumper that I want won't fit on there.
