About to sell my car...in a bind..2010 or 2011?
Hey guys,
About to sell my S2000 to get another wrangler, but of course now i have an issue....
Buy the 2010 or 2011...? Honestly for me it isn't about the interior or anything like that, it is more the long term value of the truck.
Plus..does anybody know if there are going to be any incentives on 2010's at all. Here on Long Island I haven't met a dealer that seems to want to make a good deal at all. I'd be interested to hear what some people out there have paid for theirs. All I am looking for is a base X with air conditioning, no bells and whistles.
Thanks everyone!

If by long term value you mean resale value then I'd assume newer model with latest interior is your best bet. As for savings, of course the 2010 will be cheaper once the 11's hit the ground. Besides rebates, the 10's are about 900 bucks cheaper than the incoming 11's

I think the 2011 would be easier to re-sale if down the road you want to upgrade to a newer model (with a more powerful engine) . I was trying to decide whether to get the 2010, or spend a few thousand more and get the 2011. I'm going with the 2011.

If you can wait 'til they arrive on the lot or even to order one yourself, I'd definitely go with 2011. It really depends on the urgency with which you have to sell your current ride, and the availability of alternate transportation in the meantime if necessary. But, yeah, if you're more concerned for resale value down the road rather than price now, then always shoot for the latest and greatest.

What you want
If you can find what you want in a 2010, then grab it. If you can't and don't mind waiting, order what you want and be a bit patient. That's what I ended up doing. I am not planning on selling this though. This is it for me for a LONG time. That's why I was picky about it. Good luck!

A 2011 will be worth more in 5 years. It just will. Go and price identical 2007 vs 2008 JKs with the same mileage and the 2008 will be worth more.
I think the stock of 2010s is low enough that better rebates are not coming. If you wait you might get lucky and get an extra $500 off the last 2010 but it might be a color you do not want. FYI they are selling 2010 base 2dr Sports with AC and manual tranny for $21k here in Indiana with no negotiation required.

I bought a 2010 back in July and have no regrets. I don't think I could have gotten as good of a deal on a 2011 plus 0%. I figure the money you save on 2010 ill makeup for the difference when you go to trade it in. It may be worth less but you paid less.
