About to be a Dad! Do I need a 4 door?

I have a 9 year old boy who loves my 2 door. The first time he climbed in was by stepping on the rear tire, grabbing the roll bar, and flinging himself into the back seat. There is plenty of room for even two adults back there. However, as much as I prefer the 2 door, I have to admit that putting a baby in a car seat, particularly when the top is up, would be a real drag. The door opening is very small and it is hard to step through to the back with something that may require both hands. Lastly, many rear facing car seats are enormous. I know it is possible in most cases to get them in by rotating the seat sideways over the folded forward front seat. But placing it in via a rear door would be much easier. How about get a JKU for now, and a JK five years from now?

A 4 door will make life much easier and make sure you get leather seats. Its much easier to clean up spilt milk and other fluids. In 7 years when the kids are old enough to get in and out on their own you can decide whether to go back to a 2 door.

I have a JKU Rubicon, a 10 year old and 3 year old daughter. My 3 year old is obsessed with Jeeps (Wranglers). I say if you can put the back seat in and fit a stroller behind the rear seat, keep your 2 door. If not, get the 4 door, you'll love it. Plenty of room, and you get your Jeep, though I would go with 35's. Jeep is a lifestyle, don't loose that.

Congrats. Keep the 2 door I really did not find it that bad getting them in and out. I bought mine when my boys were 2.5years and 6 months old so I have had everything from infant carriers, to rearfacing carseats and now they are big enough where my oldest no longer needs a booster.
