4door to 2 door?

I like the 4dr, mainly because the space is there wether you need it or not. With the 2dr, that's all the space you got. Also, I'm 6' and I can sleep in the back, at an angle, but I can stretch out with the front seats forward. If you plan to tow anything, the little extra wheelbase helps as well.
Went on some rocks a couple weeks ago, and a lot of the older really experienced guys in CJ's continued to comment on how well the extra wheelbase on a 4dr handled the obstacles.
The only thing that sucks is taking off the extra set of doors, and if you want to buy different doors, the price doubles as opposed to a 2dr.

I just traded my 2door x for a 4 door today. Reason being I have a 2 year old and another on the way. The space in the 4 door is crazy compared to the 2 door. I loved the 2 door but wife talked me into the 4 door and I'm happy with it!

Last year my wife decided she didn't enjoy driving her Malibu and she always wanted a Volvo. She got an XC60 which she loves. Since she got a vehicle that could hold the whole family I decided to trade in my YukonXL for a 2 door Wrangler. You could not go more from one extreme to the other for space but I love my 2 door. We even manage to take my JK to the cottage. We manage me, wife, my boys 11 and 7 and our 25 pound Corgi. We've learned to be efficient packers from flying to Florida on Spirit with just small backpacks as our "personal items". ... lol.

I did it the other way around we traded our 2dr for. 4 door with two girls we needed the extra room and I wasn't happy driving the suburban, if you think that jeeps get bad gas mileage drive one of those you'll be thankful for the jeep. I love our jeep and its 4 doors and would buy another one if we could afford the habit of having two.

I went 2dr to 4dr but needed better tow capacity and now I have an infant. For a car seat the 4dr is much easier.
If I didn't have kids and did not plan on towing, I would consider going back to the 2door

From my 2013 manual all 2dr are 2000lbs with a tongue weight of 200lbs all of the 4dr models are 3500lbs with a 350lb tongue weight except those with 3.21 gears they are rated the same as a 2dr
