youre very likely never gonna run into an issue until SAFETY INSPECTION time....
or if a cop sees you doing something questionable or wrong.

doing some googling it appears that ny does have a 3rd brake requirement - if equipped with, then must work and be secured.

further investigation (aka google) - show the CHMSL is a FEDERAL LAW....

I think this is the best "cheep trick" I have seen yet. Nice work.

That's a great idea dude! When I get my rear bumper soon I'll either be doing that or an LED strip.. Good job though!

I just read your wiki site. No where did it say that the third light had to be above the rear tire. Just that it had to be visible to drivers behind. Jkja10s' set up does everything wiki says. I see nothing wrong. And JK is from new York state(?). And the Highway patrol is super hardcore. If you can do it there you can do it anywhere...oh no he didn't quote Sinatra.

Oh and BTW, I have to give you mad creds on my signature. I got that idea from you, then just slightly modified it.. Thanks!

Glad to you all like it. It is a great little idea with no cost, I have no problems with cops or troopers the 3rd light is visible and I have been riding that way since March

Mine's been off for months now and haven't had a problem yet. That being said though I'd really prefer to have it for safety reasons.
