I got 2 rock chips within a week of driving it off the lot. Neither were very hard hits.. I also got a bird strike that put a dent in the metal frame above the windshield but no crack amazingly enough..
Havent replaced mine yet, how much are folks averaging on getting them replaced?

$320 for an at-home installation was the cheapest I found in Jersey. My first replacement was covered under a no-deductible law in Florida. If you don't count the extra pennies in the law-inflated premiums in Florida then I'm averaging $160 each replacement.

Thank god for glass insurance, I've had my windshield replaced 3 times in 4 months.

Nothing new with Wranglers.....

You have a perpendicular glass windshield...Rocks hit it at a nearly 90 degree angle. Other vehicles have a much more sloped windshield, you get more deflection.

I put a few in my YJ. Got a very small surface chip a week ago, we have been down to near single digits, so I don't think it is going to spread.

We will see.

I'm still on my first windshield, although after just about 3 years it's more of a road map than a windshield. Nothing through my line of vision so why bother?

You are lucky, we have vehicle inspections in Memphis, a chip will pass, but a crack will not.
