nitro has a 4.0 V6

the old 4.0's were I-6

Two totally diffrent engines, and the old i-6 couldnt make the emission standards of now

I dont care what the specs say, the 4.0 straight six was a far better engine than the 3.8, felt more torquey and was built strong.

Yes, you right they are two different engines. The 5.7L engine size has been around for a long time and has been the building size of many different makes and models. You're going to get more torque from a bigger block size engine period. Torque is what Jeeps are all about, with the technology today I know emissions could be passed and the fuel economy wouldn't have to suffer for going bigger.
(5.7, 6.1 pass emissions) If they were able to put the right size engine in the Jeeps then less people would be wanting a different engine(something bigger with more power 5.7, 6.1, ect) or a whim 3.6 that makes more horsepower while sacrificing torque to a higher rpm.

What is weight difference between the new 3.6 and a Hemi? Would that extra weight negate some of the Hemi's advantages, esp. off-road?

Wasn't this thread about a motor???

Oh yeah, it wasn't about the 4.0, oddly enough.

Referring to someone's sexual orientation in a derogatory way is ignorant. Middle school kids call each other stuff like that.

Its a motor, gentleman. If that's even enough to argue about. Well, apparently it is. Ok, off my box.

I like my 3.8 just fine. Then again, i never had a 4.0 tj either. Hope Im not a cliche, innuendo, or feminine hygiene apparatus.
