Default 2door test ride

I took a 2 door for a test drive just to see what it was like. (I also have other motives) I can say it is a bit odd driving a vehicle that looks the same (including color) yet was shorter. It was also stiffer (I guess due to it being new) but I did notice the changes in the road a bit more (slant right and left and unlevel spots). All in all I would not mind having one but I don't think I could give up the family room the 4 door offers. I wish I coul dhvae taken it offroad but hey it was only a test run from a stealership.

BTW any recomendations as to how to convince the wife we need 2 jeeps instead of her getting a new car????? I am attempting to convince her the mileage drop is worth the fun driving but hey any help would be appreciated.

I'd love to be a 2 Jeep family and could argue that the JK gets better mileage than the van, but my wife wants 3 rows with captains seats in the middle so the kids all have their own space. Now in your case if it's a fun thing, I'd keep the 4 door JK of course and get her something more economical seeing as you can really only take one out at a time and seems a waste to have 2 when one will usually sit. now of course if you wife wants a vehicle that she can drop the top and take doors off, then it should be easy to convince her.

I'm still old-school, and still adjusting to seeing a 4-door jeep.

Who else here pulls into a parking space, and still leaves tons of room behind you because you keep thinking your 2dr is longer than it really is??

I have the reverse problem My wife want to get rid of her liberty and get a 2nd JK. That would cut way to deep into my MOD budget

Me too.

I like 'em and all, but they just look...kinda weird, like someone stretched a silly putty newspaper picture transfer out.

I'm guilty of that.

Saw a black Unlimited Sahara the other day with Rubiccn rims and some 34" Goodyear tires, about a 2.5" lift, as well as shorty bumpers front and rear.
It was hard to get used to seeing the 4 doors at first, but those lifted Unlimited JKs with 34-35" tires look terrific with even a mild lift.

Wheeling she does although she prefers I drive. She does take the jeep every chance she gets even if it is a run to the store. The problem is she feels we only need one because she just drives back and forth to work during the week and weekends (except shopping when she takes the jeep anyway) it is usually family or both of us.

I do that too. My other vehicle is a 2000 Toyota Tundra which doesn't help any.

It took six months, however I convinced the wifee that she came up with the idea that we should dump the VW, keep the XJ and get a JK.
Whatever works out, right.
