I want to see it with a Manual Transmission, and though I have nothing against VM Motori, would prefer a Cummins ISF!

I'll believe it when I see it for sale in Canada / USA / Mexico. They've been selling the JK with a diesel everywhere else in the world since day 1 in 07. I'm sure the California emissions commissars will give the nod to the proletariat in 2018.

The diesel is exciting, I would also be interested in a manual..
I've driven a manual for most of my life and my JK is actually my first vehicle without a standard transmission.. Kind of backwards!
Am I the only one who's dying to know what it looks like?

I'm interested to see the specs on it. Looking at the current Grand Cherokee, the 3.0 is a $4500 option. It will probably be closer to $5000 by the time we see it on the Wrangler. Not sure if it makes sense at that price point but I guess it depends on what the other engine options are. Regardless it will be nice to have engine options instead of the one size for all. Now I just need to decide whether to wait or purchase a current model.

I've heard around that they r using the same jk body just a major refresh. As far as cost who knows. The grand it cost 4500 the ram 1500. So hopefully it'll be the lesser. And everyone getting mad about no stick. Just wait and see they've never not offered a cj/wrangler without one. Maybe won't be on diesel but may be on a 3.2/3.6 turbod V6 that makes 90% tq below 2k rpm. That would be nice

It they offered the same manual as the JK, which I personally believe they will, it wouldn't be news. I wouldn't get all worked up because they're going to be offering a diesel and 8 speed. That's the big news because it's new for a domestic wrangler. They never said no manual.

These things are going to be crazy expensive.m
Can someone explain to me how a diesel makes sense with such an enormous up-charge? What exactly does a diesel do that makes it twice as expensive? When you hit the throttle with the lockers engaged does some hot chic magically appear and rub one out for you?
