BMW, Mercedes, VW -- all putting diesels in their vehicles in the US -- and they sell. But quite a bit more money.
Perhaps the customer won't buy one with the -price increase- that they would be bringing along with it. The wrangler is not the same vehicle as the Liberty, and who knows at what cost it would take over the current setup to bring it. After all -- the diesel option in the RAM trucks are like $7,000.

Did you get the diesel marketing survey?
I just finished it. If Chrysler is sending out a market research survey now asking about a diesel option for the JK, it's gotta be at least two years away from production. Nothing in marketing takes less than two years.
