Is the 2012 JK that much better than the previous ?

To me, yes it was worth it. I sold my '08 JKU & purchased a 2012 for a couple of reasons:
- For a Rubicon & it's 4.10 gearing/TC
- Improved 5 speed trans
- More HP
- Improved interior
- Finally got the power options

I agree with Rvator, dont test drive until you're ready to act on it. When I finally found what I was looking for, I figured I could play "hardball" with the dealer because I wasnt in any hurry to get rid of my 06 wrangler with the 4.0. Still got a good deal, but knew right away I'd be driving away with the 2012.

I went from a 2011 4-door JK to a 2012 2-door JK. Eighty more HP and 1000 pounds less weight. There is a huge difference in performance. The 2012 feels like a sports car compared to the 2011.

I had an 08 Rubi Unltd, and test drove a 2012 today. Almost bought, but the dealer told me they are accepting orders for 2013s! I'll be ordering next week. I'm going to be looking for the rare colors as well. Somebody said something about 'Anvil'? Is that like a grey?

I sold my 08 JKUR. Got a 2012 JKUR and all I can say is "it is the best decision I made". Had a Ripp in my 08 JK and that was the biggest waste of money I did.

For me the Ripp turning was never right. After i remove the ripp that when I realize, I notice that I don't feel any decrease in power.
Now the 3.6 penastar is what the Jk needed. On the HWY is were this thing shines. Unlike the 3.8, the penastar you don't have to anticipate to done a lane change.

Traded my 2011 JKU Rubicon w/ AT and 4.10s for a 2012 JKU Rubicon w/ AT and 4.10s. It was night and day difference to me... If the 3.6 hadn't come out I had already decided I was going to ditch the 2011 because I felt it was unsafe when merging onto the highway...
Glad I traded!!

I test drove the 2012. The day I had a buyer coming for my jeep.
I really didn't notice a big enough difference to justify having another few years in payments.
Yes the 3.8 is sluggish. But really. I can ass. Merge on hwy. whatever else. It's not meant to be a fast car. It's a jeep. I enjoy just Rolling along And taking it easy every time I drive.
Give the people around me more time to stare at it and be jealous. Lol.
