Yuck. I hate that decal. Plan to remove mine too. It just looks stupid and means nothing. It's a damn Jeep Wrangler... obviously it's "trail rated".

The wait is over! Got a dealer email last night saying it was just pulled off the truck. I'm picking it up Saturday. The next two days may possibly be longer than the last 6 weeks.

For the record (for those that care):

Ordered - May 5
First email - May 9
VIN - May 21
Second Email - June 6
Lots of with CS, , then , then just a little (right Wendy??)
Delivery to Dealer - June 20

So for me, about six and a half weeks. Of course I'll post pics when I bring it home.

Cheers!

3. Drive MUCH quieter. Due to more insulated cab/top?
4. No creaks, squeaks, rattles.
5. Tighter steering, more responsive.
6. Hood does not vibrate/lift in a headwind when driving.
7. The 45 minute drive home did not even move the fuel gauge. My '09 would have used almost 1/4 tank.
8. Interior much more refined...I almost feel guilty about that. Not very "Jeep-like".
9. Radio controls on the back of the steering wheel. LOVE that!
10. Oh, and did I mention leather....purrrr...
Awesome Wendy! Congratulations!

I took my Jeep on a 400 mile round trip this past weekend. I noticed the following regarding gas mileage:

I have a Rubi with the manual.

I drove up to Fort Hood with a convoy of Jeeps, we were trying to get to the town so we could see the museum before it shut down at 4pm.
So we were driving 85 or so.

At 80-85 I was getting around 15-16mpg

On the drive home I relaxed and set the cruise at 65 and got 21mpg like the sticker says.

On a rural road with a 55mph speed limit, going only by the dash computer, I was getting 24mpg!!!! The 24mpg is what the computer said, but the others were calculated by hand and were very close to what the computer said.

So if you want to save gas.....chill out and slow down ;-)

I love this beast.

This is all great news, I can't wait to pick mine up Saturday.

Mine was ordered on 5/15 almost the same options as you with the same ship date, still in d1. Seems like jkus are being produced faster then the 2 doors

That's likely as they are just plain producing more JKUs. They likely run them through in batches and the 2 door batches are less common.

The factory rep for my Jeep informed my dealer they just added 3 shifts assembly line is running 24/7 for rest of 2012's JKU's as they are trying to get all build by end of June. They are planning to start 2013's by mid July.

Just what I am hearing from dealer and Jeep CS when I talk with them.

Thanks. I'm comfortable doing anything to my vehicles that doesn't require a lot of upper body strength. One of the greatest gifts my parents ever gave me is teaching me how to work on cars myself: tire changes, oil changes, spark plugs, brake master cylinders, draining fluids, etc.

So...the badge is gonna go...
