What lift did you have for the previous Jeep? I had checked into a lift at a dealer and the suggestion was a 3" Mopar Performance lift... which will require some saving of green stamps first. I was looking at the Mopar lift because it would be included with the vehicle warranty if done by the dealer.

Started with a Rubicon Express lift. Then had to beef it up with a whole list of things I can't remember. And many many alignments, welding of stressed trackbar brackets, worn ujoints, adding heavy duty steering stablizer, adjustable trackbar. Finally it kept going into "limp mode" when I took a turn too fast. This would all be fine if my husband or myself were welders, mechanics, engineer, etc. But since we're not, it just took too much time and cash to "look good". We never did any real trails for fear we would break it.

Sorry to hijack the thread...Carry on.

Good things I noticed about my '12 JK compared to my '09 JK.

1. Engine more quiet.
2. Engine has much more pep.
3. Drive MUCH quieter. Due to more insulated cab/top?
4. No creaks, squeaks, rattles.
5. Tighter steering, more responsive.
6. Hood does not vibrate/lift in a headwind when driving.
7. The 45 minute drive home did not even move the fuel gauge. My '09 would have used almost 1/4 tank.
8. Interior much more refined...I almost feel guilty about that. Not very "Jeep-like".
9. Radio controls on the back of the steering wheel. LOVE that!
10. Oh, and did I mention leather....purrrr...

Wait until you get her broken-in... around 300-500 miles. I started noticing it shift better after about 500-600 miles. Also, I think there is a liner kit you can get for the hard tops which reduces the noise and heat transfer even more.

Maverick, are you really going to lift your Rubi? You will lose some of the heavy-duty goodies you paid for. Definitely keep me posted if you go ahead with it. I know it looks awesome, but again, you paid for an extremely well engineered suspension and other reinforcements.

I know. I'm not a fan of the "trail rated" badge. Can I remove that?

I know. Waiting for a custom ordered Wrangler is AGONY. But it will all be worth it when you receive your window sticker and at the top it says, This Jeep is specially built for...

For those of you still waiting, here's my JK's timeline:

4/25 First email from Jeep, Order Reveceived, VIN issued
4/30 Second email from Jeep, Vehicle scheduled for production
5/14 JKUR is scheduled to be loaded on the train. But was delayed, supposedly due to Katzkin seats.
6/5 Last email from Jeep, Production Completed. Window sticker posted.
6/6 Loaded onto train.
6/20 JKUR delivered to dealer.
6/21 Picked up from dealer.

That's almost 2 months...7 weeks.

Hells yes you can, run some dental floss behind it and remove all the left over adhesive. I'm sure if your not comfortable doing it your local body shop will do it for a small fee.
