Default 2012 Decision

Going to see what prices I can get on a 2012 Unlimited Sahara tommorow.
Had several Jeeps in the past and now the unlimited would fit the family needs just right.
I know they will price out the 2012 then offer me an equivelant 2011 for alot less.
I tried an 11 earlier and it seemed ok but I drive right now a 4 cylinder Ford Ranger so anything with a V6 is going to be better. We want to buy a boat next year (16-18' bowrider) and I thought the 3.6 would tow it better than what I have read about the 3.8. Also they still don't have a tuner for the 11.
I just want to do this decision right.

Cheers
Paul

Called a couple of dealers and they are right on the MSRP prices stated on this site. So we will see if they are willing to go under MSRP a little.

Join Tread Lightly and get 1% under invoice pricing without even having to negotiate any.

I already asked some dealers and the Tread Lightly doesn't apply to Canada.

For me it would come down to cost can I get an 11 for a much better deal than a 12 ?
I would get the 12 just for the 5 speed auto.

Tread Lightly is the way to go. You get a much better engine with the 2012. 100 extra hp. 4.10 gears and the new 3.6 engine should tow great. I am trading my 08 with 4.88 gears hoping to improve towing and highway performance.

Yeah I have heard of a couple people on the forum getting sweet deals on 11's.

A guy I work with just got a sweet deal on an 11 Sport up in Oregon.

So the dealership is the same at MSRP. 31495 for a Sahara. 12 weeks for delivery. They had a 2011 70th anniversary 6 speed for 29999.00 it was definetly nice but I want to test drive the 2012 before I make my decision. Its so close now for them to be on the lots, just makes sense to wait. Oh and no incentives in sight yet for the 2012's.

Cheers

this is why I jumped on my 2011 JKU Rubicon for 30,700 last week. About 5k below sticker and 3k below invoice. The 2012's will be at a premium all year at least

This is crazy. I went into a dealer without affiliate (Tread Lightly) discount or anything, and convinced them fairly easily to sell it at 1% below invoice... In the end I am doing Tread Lightly... 2% below invoice for me, and now they get to keep their entire holdback...
