2011 or 2012 Unlimited?
Hi there.
Been a long time Jeep fan. My first was my dad's 79 CJ7 then I got a 85 CJ7 and my last was an 86 CJ7 Laredo. Well now a family later I am looking at the unlimiteds. I test drove an 2011 over the weekend and liked it, so did the family. My question is should I wait for the 2012's? I can get a pretty good deal on the 2011 but what if the 2012's come out and the mileage and power are substantial. Can you pep up the 2011's any or does it hurt mileage? That was my only complaint with the 2011 it seemed a little underpowered.
Decisions, decisions.
Thanks for any help on this.
Cheers

If the power output bothers you on the test drive, I would wait. Especially since the "solution" is just a couple of months away. There will always be the new and improved, but this "new and improved" offers almost 50% more power and is available for order today.

I am holding out for a 2012 specificaly because I want more power and better gas mileage. I drove the GC with the new engine, and I think it has a much better feel. While you could probably get $4k off Msrp on the 2011, the best deals early on for the 2012 are around 1-2% off invoice (tread lightly or affiliate discount). So maybe a couple grand difference? To me, the new engine and transmission are worth the price. Mods can easily eat up that savings.
