I drive one. Surf blue. Love it!
Didnt really like the sticker at first either but it kind of grew on me, after all why buy that model if im gonna pull the sticker off. Plus I dont really think its any worse then some of the older stickers like the scrambler they used to put on.

Some people like it, most don't. My opinion is that you should buy a Sport and just spend that extra money to make it your own. You can buy seat covers and Rubi-take off tires, or get custom wheels and tires for cheap from Discount Tire. Personally I think the sticker looks like crap, and over time it will fade and look worse. Jeep has been sucessful in selling the Islander package, so obviously some people like it.

Don't the tires, alone, make the package worth it?
I think most people bitch about the Islander and the Mountain because the think they are some sort of gimmick. Are they really? And, so what if they are? They aren't that much of a gimmick.
The Islander costs $1,120 more than an S, and the Mountain costs $1,820 more. Five KM's from Discount Tire will cost $955 for the tires. Buying the tires, having them mounted and balanced, and the hassle will put the total around the $1,120 up-charge of the Islander. The Mountain get the mineral wheels and grill that most people like.

Well I will say I have always loved Jeeps and always wanted one. I had my Z28 that I bought brand new in 2000 for 10 years. Back then I chose the Z over the Jeep because I knew GM was going to stop production. I am glad I did I had a great time with that car and don't really like the new one. That being said my next vehicle was a Jeep no matter what. When I saw the Islander in the Surf Blue with the interior color I fell in love with the look. And no I don't live in Key West or San Fran. lol. As for the decals? I wish there was a little more of them. Maybe something on the rear I did see a nice Tiki matching tire cover that should have been part of the package. As for the price of the package I believe someone else said it and was spot on. For a little over 1k I got rubi tires and shocks a special interior side steps and the much hated but liked by me decals. Anyway I love being part of the Jeep family. Best vehicle I have ever owned and the people I have encountered on this forum whether they like my Jeep or not have been awesome. Always ready to help. Thanks fellow jeepers
