Talking 2008 Rubi vs 2011 JK

Hello fellow Jeepers, I have a 2008 Rubicon unlimited with only 27 000 kms and my 24 month lease is ending in may! My question is, should I take the buyback of 25000$ or be jeepless next summer and wait for a 2011 unlimited sport?

Unless you've had any problems with it, I don't know why you'd want to go from having a Rubi to a Sport. I've got an 08 Rubi also and it hasn't given any problems after 18K ive put on it in the 10 months I've had it.

I'd say stick with the Rubi. I definitely wouldn't trade my 08 rubi for a sport.

The reason I wouls trade a Rubi for a 2011 Sport is that the've upgrated the oem equipment on the Sport and in 2011 There will be new engine choices with lower interest rates (2008 Rubi at 8 %) . Jeep offers 0% interest for 36 month for 2010. Almost all my driving is city, I would apreciate a start stop engine. The reason I went for the Rubi is was capable out of the box, the skid plates were very helpfull the locking diffs were also (Montreal winters) but I have not been in any situation where the Rubicon's crawl ratio was needed! I run a 2" lift with 34" tires. Thank you for responding.

I think based on your needs your reasoning regarding the 2011 is on target, but how can you be sure of the changes for the 2011.

If the 2011 is not being released early like manufacturers sometimes do, the changes you are expecting might not come true. Engine options specifically are one of the items that frequently gets delayed due to certification.

I don't think you should abandon your current Jeep.

I would ditch the 08 and get the new one with the new engine.

I'd wait to 2k11 and see what happens!
