I know it's tougher to wait when you don't have a jeep (I have my TJ) but I have been waiting to pull the trigger on a JKU for years, just still holding out for a better engine. If that new V6 comes out in 2012 with the 5 speed auto (I've heard rumors about an 8 speed auto for Chrysler as well), I'm down.

We rented a 2011 in Hawaii several months ago, and it ran just fine, but I always felt that my TJ and CJ were under powered for the freeways. jmho

I think its a wash... Its whatever your budget can handle. I would personally wait for the 2012 and get exactly what I want and still have the warranty. If you do get the 08 you should be able to get it for less than $21000. I would offer $18500 and settle between $19500 and $20000.
