On thing to keep in mind is that the stock gears mean nothing if you are planning on replacing them anyway

As for the tire pressure monitors on the '08s, I personally like them. Just one less thing for me to have to worry about IMO.

I waited to get an 08 bcause I never like to buy the first production year. There seems to be alot of little problems and recalls with the first year.

I did miss out on the 4.10 gear and I wish I didn't have the TPMS but I am still overall very happy with my 08. The gear in my 08 is not bad for 33's and if I go to 35's i would want more gear than 4.10 anyway.

I have not had any problems at all and no leaks on the hardtop. I also got the lifetime warranty.

If you are looking at 2 new vehicles with warranty I would still get the 08.

I think the 08 will have less minor problems.
The fit and finish may be a little better on th 08. DC had some paint problems on the 07's. Look behing the hinges!! Lack on paint.

Plus the 07 will be worth less than the 08 when you drive off the lot.

What ever you get just have fun. This is my first Jeep and it is by farmore fun to drive than any truck I have ever owned. The mods are endless and there are many more to come in 08.

I did not know there were any unsold '07's left...so, all the '07's would be either dealer demo units, or otherwise used, as far as I know...at least around here.

So, you may be asking if you should buy a used '07, or a new '08.

The '07's did have leaking top issues, but did have 4.10 gearing options.

The '08 has a lifetime powertrain warrenty, the '07's do not. The financing on the '08 will be lower, if you're not paying cash. Obviously, the '07 would be a bit cheaper.

If someone is selling a one year old jeep, there may be a reason for that...first year bugs on American cars are a tradition.

If there IS an '07....well, shouldn't be a wait for it...they stopped making them 6 mos ago or so.

If you get an '08, you will have at least a 4-6 week wait, unless someone cancels an order you can glom onto, etc.

The '07's had fog lights in the bumper as an option, the '08's took that out of the X options.

There's a few other items here and there, including those already mentioned in posts above.

Fyi, I Have 410's W/ 33's And My Transmission Shifts In And Out Of Overdrive Alot More Than It Did Before . I Was Thinking That 4.56's Would Put It Back Closer To Stock, But Anyway If You Go With The 08 You May Want To Regear But That Is Just My 2 Cents. My Vote = 08

I bought my 08 in October and waited one week. Get an 08. A. Newer. B. Better Loan Deal. C. More of the bugs fixed. D. Lifetime Powertrain Warranty

The '08's have a different rear swaybar. Why I don't know, but mine is different than my buddys '07. Because it is different, it is VERY close (approx. 1/4") to your sidewall even with OEM rims/tires. A track bar bracket would help, but without spacers/rims you won't fit anything else (wider) on it. Just FYI.

The 4.10 is the minimum in my opinion for the 33's. I ran 3.73 on my TJ with 33's and needed more gearing, especially for hills. I'd go with the 08 for the reasons others listed and then regear when you get the 33's with 4.10's or even 4.88's if you spend a lot of time on the trail.

Thanks! I agree. Now I just got to find an unlimited automatic 2007. I just have to find a hardtop with power package to keep the wife happy.

i have the 08... i like it... 373 is not the best at 75 mph but it is still decent.. you cruise at 2400 rpms and when it kicks down it never goes above 3000 to get up a hill... as for offroad.. when u put this baby in 4LO you have plenty of power. it don't feel any different than the 29 inch tires it came with. however if u want a 4 door im sure power losses would be even more.
be prepared for the 6K dollar loss you take driving a 07 off the lot. but if you plan on keeping it forever like i do then it don't matter one bit now does it!

Putnam is right. I have the option at a couple dealerships that still have new 07's. They will give me the lifetime powertrain warranty. I think mostly for the gearing I am leaning towards the 07. The financing really doesnt matter to me because I cant afford 0% for only 36 months.
