thanks a lot for your opinion. now if it doesnt have the tow package install but has the 3.73's and i end up putting the hitch on myself, will it work the same way? will the damper system work or do i need to get it flashed? and the 3.73 will be plenty for 35's and 4" lift, right? are there any programmer chips for 2012 yet?

I added a hitch to my 09 after I bought it and I haven't had issues towing, but let me first say that I'm not towing over 1500lbs so ymmv. As far as programmers there isn't anything out yet, but from what I've read it's mainly because it's a new ECM and a tricky one to fool at that... Give it a little time though.

right now as im typing this, there are 2 dealerships searching for a car that fits my needs otherwise they have to order. how long does it take for an order to come to the east coast? they say 6-8wks but im sure they are just saying that to be safe.
the menu i asked for is:
wrangler unlimited sport s
black/black
connectivity group
23s package
max tow package (3.73)
sirius sat
supplemental front seat side airbags
LSD

MSRP: 30,275
INV: 29,105

I asked for a pretty stripped one b/c i want to add my own rocker protectors, bumpers, lift, etc so theres no need for the sahara or 7 spkr system, etc.. plus im 24, back in school, and dont have access to the 'bank of mom and dad'..
has anyone else moved from sports coupes to wranglers? did you have buyers remorse or any regrets?

Check on the airbags but I'm pretty sure they only protect the front seat passengers. The way I understand it is they are in the side bolster and inflate forward. I don't think they'll help the rear seat passengers at all.

Confirmed. Don't buy the front seat air bags for the kids unless they'll be in the front.

wow never thought to think of that.. thanks a lot man. mayb then i will 'settle' for the one at the other dealership. i can always add the rear lock and tow package. but does any1 know if the package is as plug and play as it was previously? will the damper system work once i install the harness or no? and if i get a trek top, do i need any of the hardware from the oem soft top or is it meant for people who only ever had hardtop on their jeep?

I just priced re-gearing here for $1,100 out the door including parts and labor. Now I wanted to go from 3.73 to 5.13's and it was a 2008. Not sure what the difference would be on a 2012?

from what i hear, regearing the 12 puts it into limp mode and they havent figured out how to reflash the computer to accept it. would 3.73's be enough to dd with 35's and occasional tow and off road? or would it cause problems down the road?

After driving a '12 with the 3.73 gears and stock tires, I don't see needing to re-gear anytime soon with 35's...

Hi,

I was reading your thread and just had to post since I stay in Ramsey frequently (and actually at the Homewood suites off 17S now). I had to ask how is it that Ramsey Jeep/Chrysler doesn't have what you want? I think they are one of the largest Jeep dealers in Jersey.

Those guys are great and have a metric ass-load of 2012's in stock. After a 5 state search, I was working with them for getting a 2012 Rubi as our 2nd jeep but, ended up finding the stripper 2012 Rubi I wanted oddly right next to my Corp HQ back in Maryland which literally just came off the truck from Toledo. I wasn't really looking at sports but, was amazed at the amount they had when most other dealers had only a few.

They do have a nice 2012 Sahara Tan JKU Rubi with the full Trailer Tow package that I saw on their lot this morning!

Good luck to you!
